Are we getting tired of celebrity beauty brands?
There is a growing sentiment that has been emerging as of late. Many people are saying they are tired of beauty brands by celebrities and believe they are mundane and over hyped.
It seems like every day there is news of yet another celebrity starting a makeup or skincare brand, and jumping on the bandwagon. The true question is , are beauty consumers ready for an innovative beauty startup to take the beauty industry by storm?
So many people are getting tired of the regular promotional tactics of beauty, and the sentiment is growing that they are dissatisfied with always being pitched to, in a way that feels just like normal promotion. What if there could be a brand that empowers all, and represents diversity not in just racial backgrounds, but also features.
I uploaded a video to my tiktok , and it garnered agreements, and my statement was “what is the point of beauty diversity in the beauty industry if everyone has the same features”. That means that if I have models of different colors, what’s the point of diversity if they look the same?
There are many communities that are ignored entirely in the beauty community and it’s time to change that. Moving forward I believe there is no need for “gatekeepers” in the beauty industry, sure there is enough room for everyone , but I do believe that celebrities who start beauty businesses on a whim, should really have a passion and purpose behind the beauty products that they want others to buy.
In an already saturated market, I always want Burden Free Beauty to stand apart, and celebrate the unique essence of women from all backgrounds, with different features. Our motto is we don't follow the trends we create them. My business is not about me, or about messaging to others that they should look like the founder of the business. My mission and the purpose behind Burden Free Beauty is to empower all to radiate their unique beauty from the inside out, and to be their own icon.
